Third year I have been to Fratellis concert, each year hoping that the sound quality will improve. Unfortunately I'm still waiting. Yet again, a great show let down slightly by poor sound. Don't know if it's Fratellis equipment or O2s but it doesn't cope with loud volume levels. The final song of the performance Run around Sue was completely distorted up in the balcony.

The Fratellis, O2 Academy Newcastle, Newcastle Upon Tyne - 30th March 2018
Loved the intimate feel of the O2 institute. Black Pistol Fire were fabulous, so much energy & really addictive music. Fratellis were great too.

Good mix of material was played. Atmosphere was lovely but warm. Danced my socks off. 'Nuff said.

The Fratellis, Rock City, Nottingham - 26th March 2018
Had an absolute blast seeing the Fratellis again at the O2 Forum. The support from Black Pistol Fire was a superb start to the evening- a good match for the Fratellis, they made us really stoked to see the main act. Personal highlights were the cover of Fleetwood Mac's 'Oh Well', and the energetic performance from both band members, particularly the frontman, who leapt into the crowd and carried on playing guitar seamlessly- very impressive. The Fratellis themselves struck and excellent balance with old and new tracks. One of the best things about the Fratellis gigs is you get a real value for money- there is no mucking about between songs, meaning you get to see more than 20 banging tunes in a row! New tracks were well picked, and personally was really impressed with how well rehearsed these sounded. 'Stand Up Tragedy', 'Laughing Gas' and 'Told You So' were the standouts for me. The band come across as humble and not at all pretentious, Jon the guitarist uses a beat up red guitar that looks like it's seen some truly wild nights, but you are left with the impression that this is a band with humble origins that never got too big for their boots. Myself, my girlfriend and my sister have been fans for years and it goes without saying we really enjoyed rocking out to the oldies including 'Henrietta', 'Ole Black n' Blue Eyes', 'Flathead', 'Chelsea Dagger', and my personal fave 'Creepin' up the Backstair'! Was also a joy to hear so many fans singing along to tracks from comeback album 'We Need Medicine' and the follow up, 'Eyes Wide Tongue Tied'- both albums have some excellent tunes on them, and deserve the recognition they have gained from the fans. The gig was terrific, we'll definitely be back to see the Fratellis!

The Fratellis are a Scottish indie rock band formed in Glasgow in 2005. The band consists of Jon Fratelli (lead vocals and guitar), Barry Fratelli (bass guitar and backing vocals), and Mince Fratelli (drums and backing vocals). They gained widespread recognition with their debut album, Costello Music (2006), which reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and included hit singles like "Chelsea Dagger" and "Whistle for the Choir."
Following a brief hiatus in the early 2010s, The Fratellis reunited in 2012 and have since released several successful albums, including We Need Medicine (2013), Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied (2015), In Your Own Sweet Time (2018), and Half Drunk Under a Full Moon (2021). Known for their high-energy performances and catchy, upbeat tunes, The Fratellis continue to maintain a strong presence in the UK music scene, delighting fans with their unique blend of rock, blues, and indie sounds.
