Maximo Park, Rock City, Nottingham - 18th February 2026
The new album sounded incredible live! I hadn't actually had much of a chance to listen to it prior to the gig but they really out did themselves. ***SPOILER*** they finished on Do You Wanna Get High and it had the entire venue dancing like crazy, from the younger generations like myself all the way upto the older gentlemen and gentleladys. Brilliant performance.

Maximo Park, O2 Institute Birmingham, Birmingham - 5th May 2017
Maxïmo Park emerged from Newcastle upon Tyne in 2000 and quickly stamped their name on the UK indie-rock map. With frontman Paul Smith’s high-octane charisma, they blasted off with A Certain Trigger (2005)—a Mercury-Prize-nominated debut bursting with singles like “Graffiti” and “Apply Some Pressure.” They followed with the gold-certified Our Earthly Pleasures (2007), before pushing their sound further on Quicken the Heart (2009) and Too Much Information (2014). Risk to Exist (2017) showed the band’s political edge, tackling urgent themes without losing their trademark melodies.
Most recently, Nature Always Wins (2021) delivered some of their most reflective work to date, climbing the charts and drawing acclaim for its sharp songwriting, while Stream of Life (2024) saw the band stepping confidently into new creative territory. Across the decades, Maxïmo Park have stayed magnetic on stage—hook-laden, unapologetically energetic and endlessly vital, proving that great indie-rock anthems never lose their power.
